Pencils are oil based and extremely smooth to apply without the wax bloom you get with a lot of artists pencils. Great Colour range and no difficulty finding just the right shade with these sets. Made in Germany and very high quality without the issues of lead breaking all the way down the pencil. Would recommended these professional artists pencils to my best friend and another bonus is these pencils are sold as singles so it is easy to top up your set with pencils more frequently used.
